I had to rearrange eveything during a time of crisis, and now I’m never going back!

The Sensitive CEO's avatar

Love that you’ve been able to do this!

It has not been easy, but I truly was left with no choice but to dig deep into creative possiblilities.

100% We have been taught to believe ‘hustling,’ positive growth models, and constantly moving forward is key to success. But women are cyclical. And just how nature takes yearly resets, I believe this cycle is essential for everyone. I need a yearly hibernation 🤣

The Sensitive CEO's avatar

Ha! Me too!! This would be amazing!!

I've started planning more around this! I usually wind down my work in December/January to allow more reflection

The Sensitive CEO's avatar

That’s amazing! I try to organize my days around my cycle. So helpful. Love the idea of planning in more reflection time during the winter months also.

Absolutely... there are also four distinct phases in the menstrual cycle and I've also noticed the energy associates with that too :)

Thank you. 🙏💖 I don’t think this gets said often enough. That we can have a life... fully be ourselves - the Sovereign Being and the human - AND build a successful business. I'm sending you so much love and BIG hugs as you continue to settle back in. 🫂💖

Thank you!

It really isn't. I think it's important for us to change the way things have always been. To create a way of doing things that is more in alignment with hour humaness.

Thank you for writing and sharing this. It's such an important conversation. Consistency can often be a stick to beat ourselves with when it simply might not be possible to sustain. I juggle my business around my health issues and learning to trust the way things unfold has been core to being able to gently work and also care for myself. A lot of business 'models' leave no room for the unexpected and the human 🧡

The Sensitive CEO's avatar

Love the analogy "a stick to beat ourselves with"! Made me chuckle. It's so true though! I too have to juggle health issues, so I can relate to that as well.

Glad it resonated and made you smile. Sorry you are also navigating health issues. It’s tough. But please know how supportive your writing is.

Thank you Tiffany!

I resonate with this so much. Slow living.

Slow creation.

Last year my well felt depleted and I also took a step back and didn’t chase the work as much.

It still came.

The beautiful community which I’ve slowly been building were there, so supportive.

Sending love to you.

More of us need to continue to show other how it is possible. So glad you were able to continue to build while also honouring yourself and your needs. 💕

Hi Melanie, I am happy to see you back and I honor your pause. Interestingly, I was thinking about your presence here at night and now in the morning, here you are. ✨

The Sensitive CEO's avatar

Hi Selene, I’m so happy to be back! That is so interesting! You were “tuned in”. Love it! 💕

Really appreciate this perspective. I've taken a lot of business advice to heart that wasn't at all designed for my life, my business or my way of being in the world. Gradually trying to untangle what I know versus what I think I should do, and it's a ride for sure! Really appreciate your voice, and that of others, showing that we can tend to our people, place and soul as we build.

The Sensitive CEO's avatar

I'm so glad it resonated. I think a lot of us were never meant to contort our lives to fit someone else’s business model, but we were told that discomfort was just the price of ambition. Questioning that can feel destabilizing… but at the same time relieving.

Thank you so much for this. I've also been pausing - nursing sick kitties and having to send one over the Rainbow Bridge. Lots of grief. Also knowing that my Substack is not quite right for me, so will be making adjustments there at some point. I'm back to working on my memoir - my happy place - it's a priority now. So, taking space and time to heal and reflect.

The Sensitive CEO's avatar

I'm really sorry about your kitten. That grief is often not recognized by many but it really is profound. I've experienced the same having lost two of my dogs the past few years.

It makes a lot of sense that everything else would slow or rearrange itself around that. I also love how clearly you’re listening to what doesn't feel right for you and letting that inform your next move instead of forcing things.

Returning to your memoir as a priority feels deeply wise. There’s something restorative about going back to the work that feels like home. I’m glad you’re giving yourself the space to heal and reflect. 💚

This hit a chord deep inside as I've been struggling to take some necessary time for my health and somehow finding the objective to stay quiet and 'not care' about all the things, big or small, hopeless. I think you've given me the permission I needed to be ok with a small absence from the daily dos to focus on this one important season. Thank you

The Sensitive CEO's avatar

I’m really glad this landed when you needed it. Taking time for your health is never the wrong choice, even when it’s hard to step away from the daily rhythms and expectations.

If this gave you a bit of permission to focus on what matters most in this season, then I’m truly happy it was helpful. 💕💕 Sending you healing energy while you take this time.

So relatable and validating. Wishing you well as you reenter this season...as it is.

Thank you Patricia. I appreciate it. 💕
